Fez Culinary Tour - 08 Days - 07 Nights - From Fez

Day 1: Arrival to Fes

Welcome to Morocco! Upon arrival at the airport, you will meet our local English speaking driver who will provide a brief review of your Morocco Luxury tour. A Welcome Reception and Dinner celebrates your arrival in Fez. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 2: Fes Sightseeing Tour

Today you will have a guided tour of the medieval city Fez. This city once was the capital and one of the country's four imperial cities. Fez comprises three distinct parts, Fez el Bali which is the oldest part surrounded by a big wall, where are more than 9000 narrow streets and allies. Fez-Jdid or the new Fes, home of the Mellah the Jewish quarter and the Ville Nouvelle the newest section of Fez created during the French occupation. Fez el Bali is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its medina is the largest in the world. Among its narrow streets and allies, the oldest university in the world is located; The University of Al-Karaouine, founded in AD 859. This University is still operating nowadays. Overnight with breakfast at the hotel.

Day 3: Cook a Moroccan Tajine

Today you will start the cooking experience. You will learn how to make a local Moroccan Tajine. You meet your tour guide and you will Shop for ingredients, learn about the uses of herbs and spices, and cook a typical Moroccan Tajine with an expert chef. You will enjoy a delicious lunch cook by you. The afternoon at leisure to relax at the hotel. Overnight with breakfast at the hotel.

Day 4: Day Trip to Meknes & Volubilis

Take a day trip to the Imperial city of Meknes and the World Heritage of Roman ruins Volubilis. Meknes is known as the “Moroccan Versailles.” Meknes was founded in the 17th century by King Moulay Ismail. It is famous for its 25-mile-long walls. After that, the Roman city of Volubilis as an important Roman town situated near the westernmost border of Roman Empire. It was built on the site of a previous Carthaginian settlement from the third century BC. Volubilis was the administrative center of the province in Roman Africa called Mauretania Tingitana. The fertile lands of the province produced many commodities such as grain and olive oil, which were exported to Rome, contributing to the province's wealth and prosperity. Back to the medieval city of Fez. Overnight with breakfast at the hotel.

Day 5: Cook the local Couscous

Today you will cook differently and prepare another local dish which is Couscous. You will meet your tour guide and shop the main ingredients to make Couscous. When you are back, you will meet your chef for an introduction about the different use of Spices and preparation of your second dish. You will enjoy your cooked couscous for lunch. The afternoon at leisure to relax at the hotel. Overnight with breakfast at the hotel.

Day 6: Day Trip to Ifrane and Azrou

Today you take a break off Fez medina and head towards the middle Atlas. After driving through the Oak forest we will be in Ifrane the so called “the Switzerland of Morocco” because of its architecture. We have the possibility to make a pause for coffee and a walk through its green park. We continue towards the town of Azrou which means rock in the indigenous Tamazight Berber language, located in the heart of The Middle Atlas region. You will find the monkeys that thrive in nearby groves of cedar trees. With pickup and drop-off at Fez hotels, this full-day Middle Atlas trip goes off the beaten path to find Morocco’s quieter, rural side.

Day 7: Cook a Moroccan Pastilla.

Start today with a new cooking class experience. You will cook the Moroccan Pastilla. You will shop as the other days the main ingredients needed to prepare this tasty dish. You will enjoy what you cooked (Pastilla) for lunch followed by Moroccan mint tea and local pastries. The afternoon at leisure. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 8: Fez - Back to the airport.

Depending on your flight schedules, we’ll transfer you to Fez airport with plenty of memories and help you with registration formalities and special flight requirements before your departure.
